Quick Post

Sorry I haven’t been to active lately but I had to get a lot of things done and I also broke my toe. Anyways, I am glad the offseason is over and Spring Training is here. It is times like these where I wish I lived in Fort Myers again where a couple of teams did Spring Training.

Spring Training
The Braves are currently 3-1 in Spring Training while having many of our top prospects playing. The ones who have the best chances of winning a position are Brandon Jones, Jordan Schafer, Josh Anderson, Tommy Hanson, and Jeff Locke. Other noticeable people are Freddie Freeman and Jason Heyward. I can see Anderson and Locke on the roster when the season starts, but players like Jones, Schafer, and Hanson long shots. Hanson will probably start in AAA since we signed Glavine to a contract over 2 million and Kenshin Kawakami looks like the real deal. Schafer will do the same because Anderson is out of options. Jones has the best chance in my opion since Diaz isn’t a lock and Frenchy and Garett Anderson are the only for-sure players who will win a spot in the outfield. They will all see some time during the season though.

Offseason
The offseason was a success. We completely changed our pitching staff, we added a real backup catcher, and we got a new outfielder with some actual power. We also lost a couple of players that didn’t really help last season (Miller, James, Hampton and his contract). We did lose Ohman, Smoltz, and Tim Hudson for half of a season, but we will move on. We decreased the age by a bunch and will have Moylan, Gonzalez, Soriano, a better Francoeur, Diaz for the majority of the season. It will be much better than last year.  I give the offseason an “A.”

My Predicted Line-Up for the Season
Brian McCann
Casy Kotchman
Kelly Johnson
Chipper Jones
Yunel Escobar
Garret Anderson
Josh Anderson
Jeff Francoeur
Derek Lowe, Jair Jurrjens, Javier Vazquez, Kenshin Kawakami, Tom Glavine

I really can’t wait for the season to start. Watch out Phillies and Mets!

I believe you mean Moylan, not Phillies’ starter Moyer. But yes, great offseason. We’re locked and loaded. Ready to go.
